Hail Hydra… and welcome to the new look website. Looks pretty great doesn’t it? Certainly a lot better than the old ‘blogger’ site. As much as I’d love to take credit, the truth is that most of the magic was performed by ohkocial media – so please check out their site.

Now it’s time to kick off your shoes, sit back, grab your favorite beverage and explore the new-look Arbutus Films website.

You can read a bunch of TV specs, some TV pilots and (when I get around to it) the associated pitch documents. There’s also some short films to watch, and the scripts are also available so you can see how things changed from page to screen. I’m also going to post more feature length screenplays, although there’s a couple on the site already, and – of course-  there’s more updates on the comic books I’m working on, and hopefully I’ll be able to start posting some comic scripts in the very near future.  Fingers crossed.

Aside from updating the website, I’m continuing to develop, write and pitch a slew of Canadian TV shows – so far unsuccessfully – which will end up on this site in some form or another. If you read them and like them, that’s great. If you hate them, that’s fine too. We’re not all going to agree – just ask the people who hated “Agents of Shield” (full disclosure – it had problems, but I liked it and I’m looking forward to season two, and also Agent Carter).

In any case – the point is that writing is often about failing. We need to learn from our mistakes –  and learn to ‘fail better’ – because that’s how we become better writers and (hopefully) better people. By posting my work online, I get to hold myself accountable in a visible environment, and this may also help others to avoid making the same mistakes.

So… on with the show.  And Hail Hydra.

Are you an AOS fan? Which fall TV shows are you looking forward to?
