UPDATE: Feb 20, 2020. The group is now full, but if you wish to be added to the wait list please let us know.

Are you a TV writer in the Vancouver area? Are you looking for feedback on a new pilot or spec? Are you willing to provide feedback on other people’s material? Are you prepared to meet at least once per month?

If the answer to all the above is yes, then InkWrites might be for you.

InkWrites is a group of dedicated, aspiring TV writers in Vancouver.

The group has been running for three years to provide regular peer support and feedback on TV projects. We meet at least once per month on Sunday afternoons (3pm-5pm) in downtown Vancouver.

We’re looking for local writers who feel they would benefit from participating in such a group. You should have completed at least one original pilot script (half-hour or hour-long), and are serious about developing new material with an eye to working as a TV writer.

We’re committed to improving representation within the industry, and particularly encourage racially diverse and LGBTQ2 applicants.

If you’re interested in learning more, please send an email to co-leads John Ward and Erin McGechaen with the following information:

  • A brief description of who you are
  • A sentence outlining why you’d like to participate
  • What genres you gravitate towards

The group is full of strong creative voices and some members have been selected for the Pacific Screenwriting Program, the Canadian Film Centre’s Primetime Television Program, and others have gone on to staff on shows.

We’re all dedicated to supporting each another and building a positive, creative TV writing community in Vancouver.

Thanks for reading, and we look forward to hearing from you!
